The Oscars. Predictions and Opinions

Train(ing) Day

I grab breakfast to go to sustain me on the train and get to the train, ready for an all day affair.
I get to Figueres, a city on the border of France and Spain. My first transfer consisted of crossing the platform. Even I can’t screw that up.
Back to Barcelona and the Kabul Hostel

I was up at 8, and found my backpack wet on the roof due to rain, an awesome way to start the day.
I made my goodbyes to Raquel. While my time there was semi-awkward because we are hardly good friends anymore (which became that much clearer with John visiting Jordan as they were very close), I had a lot of fun and she showed me the city’s greatest hits and introduced me to a few locals and a lot of great people, even if I must not have given a good impression, since I didn’t end up getting any of their information on the book of faces. But no matter: Raquel was a great host and I’m very thankful for my time there, and she’s lucky. Seville is a very cute, beautiful, safe and relaxed city. It sure sounds like she knows where she wants to be, something I’m still looking for.
Another Palace, a Swell Picnic and Card Games with Spaniards

I was up at 10, and had eggs and cheese and some bread. I learned I couldn’t function in the kitchen because I couldn’t even make that myself. It was sad.
Raquel needed coffee so we stopped at a cafe, and because I hadn’t had it yet and it’s apparently a thing (though Raquel made it clear that I was ordering it at the wrong time of day), I had chocolate con churros. Basically, it’s a really, really thick hot chocolate served with churros, and you dip baby. Yes please.

I slept until 12:45, showered and put itch ointment that I purchased in Barcelona on. Sexy, I know.

Even when planned correctly, shit happens. I said no to clubs and Karlee, and was rewarded by…
My phone’s alarm didn’t go off, as it was inbetween the wall and the bed. It was 7:30, a half an hour after I had planned to wake up by. I packed my shit, barely remembered including my sandals (necessary for hostel showers), got my key deposit and booked it to the metro station. I got to my train with 5-10 minutes left to spare. Whew.
Getting Pissed…and the Magic Fountains of Montjuic!

Karlee and I woke up to the sound of running water. No, not running water. Piss. The Quebecois guy was swaying and pissing in the corner of the hostel room right below us, pitter-pattering on the floor.
WHAT. THE. FUCK.
Seedy Barcelona: Olly, Clubs, Karlee, and Roses

I got up really late, feeling like shit and missing the free breakfast.
I grudgingly got out of bed and went to a falafel place called Maoz Vegetarian, thinking veggies and hummus would do me wonders, but my stomach didn’t agree, so I packed it up in my bag for later.

To liven things up, you can turn my blog into a drinking game. I could make up a lot of rules and make it complicated, but you really only need two for it to be worthwhile. Every time I have a parenthetical missive, take a shot/drink. Every time I mess up with a girl, finish your drink (but seriously, drink responsibly; The Wanderer doesn’t want your bile on his conscious).
And Mom, I’d avoid reading this one after the Sagrada Familia section.
Barcelona FC Welcomes Me to Espana

In the early butt crack of the day, I had OJ and some awesome homemade jam (fig and prunes) and butter on bread. I made my goodbyes with Sylvie and Augustin. I had a wonderful restive experience in Pibrac, and reveled in their hospitality, cooking and WI-FI. I hope I can someday return the favor for any of their kids, or can show them around America.
Then I grabbed a train to Toulouse and a bus to Barcelona. It was a little bit of fun to try and find the bus station in Toulouse, but I made it work. I’ve been doing this for 50 days now people (I may have been saved by a polite Frenchwoman who could tell I needed help to find the bus station).
